The Meant to Bea Florals Story
In 2022, Lindsey Beatrice was an intern at GoFarm in Golden, admiring the weekly flower share. She's always loved flowers, and a high school internship with a wedding florist had prompted her to major in Botany. She thought about how incredible life would be if she became a flower farmer, and put the thought into the universe. A couple months later, she connected with a neighbor Keryn who generously offered the use of her land as a flower farmette. That put into motion a whole host of beautiful synchronicities to get started. When describing how it all came together, her friend Emma said, "It's like it was meant to be!"
Planted in 2023, Meant to Bea Florals is a sustainable small-scale flower farmette in Boulder, CO. Lindsey weaves in edible and native plants to her bouquets and hopes her creations connect people more deeply with the Earth. As Meant to Bea grows, she would love to plant more native perennials that will require no supplemental water and help local ecosystems and pollinators.

Our Ethos

Soil health | Organic growing | Zero waste | Equity

At Meant to Bea Florals, we are dedicated to positive stewardship of the land with a focus on soil health. We prioritize using low-till methods and an abundance of perennials for future seasons. We plan to leave annual flower roots in the ground over winter to keep soil healthy. We grow organically and use integrated pest management practices as a first resort. Another key practice is to be as low waste as possible. Plant waste is composted onsite, and used in garden beds. Tools are rented, borrowed, or purchased secondhand. Cut flowers that aren't sold are donated to senior living centers, or dried/pressed. Equity is also a huge part of our ethos, which is why we offer surprise pay-what-you-can days throughout the season at the farmers market.
